The Point

Chippewa Bay

Summer 2025:

End of June for two weeks, Robert, Parker and Nell. Notable: cleaning and sorting little camp (clearing out “the hats”) and the storage boxes. Rebuilding and organizing the carport area, considering longer time ideas. Peter and Robin and Nell and Robert and Parker first week of July, great eating, a sail, more thinking, organizing, building, cleaning.

Notable:

Bird Tate work: replace plumbing under little camp; move hot water heater out of the camp to the back into a container; add a better shower; add outdoor shower; extend the bathroom wall 7 inches; add a kitchen sink against the swamp wall; remove the sink on Felt wall (Nell did this, no charge ; ) )

For the billiionth time that I remember, there was a sceptic problem. Lots of folks on the system–Lynn and Steve Green Camp had their two children, spouses and two grandchildren over teh fourth, alongside five of us. Bird assessed and will send an estimate for replacing the distribution tank and layout out more lines, which will also require (he thinks) adding soil that is more drainy to the existing lawn.

Trimmed the bank greenstuff; Robert replaced six or eight dock planks that were rotting. Nell bought a sunfish to take to Maine.

Carol K imparts that she wants us to enjoy the river and not find it a burden. She said she and daid discussed ways to fund the river before he died, and how to do it, she will pay for plumbing and for the additional laying of the lines for sceptic system, as long as we pitch in an extra bit to the kitty each month, and if we sell within 5 years, she wants her money back, otherwise not. She also wants to know a good time during the summer that her kids can enjoy the river for a week or two.
